Burial Site

May 2023

Still no further devolopment on the burial plot.

18th August 2021

TPERA have been discussing with Thame Town Council the proposed burial site to the south of the Taylor Wimpey houses.  Provision for the site was part of the original planning consent for the Taylor Wimpey development.

The latest plan for the site is attached.  It proposes a total of 234 burial plots, of which 65 are green, plus 157 ashes interment plots.

As you can see the site is completely fenced off and there will be no access, either by vehicles or foot, through the Taylor Wimpey estate.

The only access, vehicular, foot and cycle, will be to the south of the existing pumping station on Thame Park Road.

We have suggested to TTC that the hedging inside the fence be extended to cover the Northern perimeter, to shield the driveway access and the visible elements of the site from the remaining field and the bungalow on Thame Park Road.

We will let you know how this is received.

Further information is available in the minutes and agenda of the 19 January 2021 TTC meeting. Links:

A planning application to SODC is expected in the next few weeks and TTC have promised to send us a copy for information after they have reviewed, probably before it goes to SODC.

TTC will be taking on the responsibility and management of the site.  They will also be setting the rules regarding headstones and memorial markers.

As a separate matter we have asked for an update on the remaining open space and its management.  Again, we’ll let you know any information as we get it.
