2021-22 Achievements!

Achievements and Activities

 

General Activity

  • 14 TPERA committee meetings have been held
  • 1 AGM has been completed with the next one scheduled for 23rd May
  • TPERA website has been completed and maintained.
  • Built a relationship with East Thame Residents Association (ETRA) and will work in partnership for key issues (TNP2 Responses etc).
  • 1 Leaflet drop has occurred to all residents with a 2nd one due in April 22.
  • Onsite meeting with Thame Green Living to understand Thame circular routes and green plans.
  • Swish Fibre
  • Engagement with fibre broadband company to establish they would NOT be digging up the roads to install their broadband.
  • Engagement with Swish to understand why they were digging on the estate and provided residents a copy of the plans.
  • Manure pile incident reported, and residents informed how to escalate if smell comes back again.

Estates Handover

  • Bellway
    • Communication to Bellway executive to highlight that some residents felt that Bellway had misrepresented the situation of Reserve Site C and its development likeliness.
    • Bellway submitted a donation to 2 charities because of this. (Helen House Hospice & Thame Green Living)
    • Communication to Bellway executive regarding the handover of the estate and the handover of the management company to the residents.

  • Taylor Wimpey
    • TPERA have been asked by the Taylor Wimpey residents NOT to pursue the handover of the management company to the residents. Taylor Wimpy are currently carrying this out directly and are taking a commercial impact.

Thame Town Council Activity

  • Obtaining £508 grant from Thame Town Council to fund TPERA so we have been able to do leaflet drops and hire the bowls club for the AGM without having to raise funds.
  • TNP2
    • Suggesting to Thame Town Council lorry park facilities are included in TNP2.
    • TPERA attendance at all the TNP2 consultation meetings.
    • Communication and encouragement to residents to part take in TNP2.
  • Speed Gun use – TPERA were offered a 6-month trail of speed guns.  The residents were canvassed but unfortunately there were not enough volunteers to complete a rota.

Perimeter Planning applications

  • Reserve Site C
    • TPERA ensured all residents were aware of the planning application, despite it only being sparsely sent to residents by the council.
    • TPERA encouraged all residents to provide objections pertaining to the access road (Warren Mead / Hode Garth).
    • TPERA collated much photographic evidence of HGV traffic, accidents on the estate, Agricultural movements and sent as a formal objection to SODC Planning.
    • TPERA attended and presented to TTC and asked for their support in objecting to the access road (Which they did not).
    • The developer confirmed that they would include a dedicated access for construction traffic off Wenman road during the construction!
    • TPERA continued to send further letters to SODC / TTC / CEG (Nexus) reading the previously raised points.
    • Further photographic evidence was sent to SODC Planning following damage to the estate caused by Agricultural vehicles.
    • TTC supported TPERA on their proposal for a clear and consistent access for the farmer to use between reserve site C and the field to the south of Bellway.
    • SODC confirmed that the clear and consistent access would be part of the planning conditions.
    • Introducing Diagnostic Reagents to Reserve Site C developers with a view to encouraging their own separate access off Wenman Road.
    • TPERA continues to stay close to this application and update of residents.
  • Burial Site
    • TPERA reached out to Thame Town Council working group regarding the proposed Burial site.
    • Obtained early site of the plans and shared with the residents.
    • Established that no pedestrian or vehicular access to the proposed burial site will be via the Taylor Wimpey estate.
    • TPERA continue to monitor progress and will engage again once the formal planning application has been submitted.

Perimeter Business relations

  • Liaising with Invictus Gym to persuade gym uses not to park on the estates.
  • Removal of industrial ‘A-signs’ from Wenman Road verges.
  • Liaising with companies on the industrial estate to establish the route through the estate to the Phoenix Trail should not be advertised/encouraged due to danger to pedestrians.
  • Liaising with Ludgates to change the lighting angle of security lights which were directly shining into residents’ properties and the junction of Warren Mead.
  • Working with Ludgates to understand their night-time operation and encourage Lorries not to arrive too early.
  • Thanking Howdens for being mindful of residents during deliveries etc.
